In Mongolia, a collective game uses sheep ossicles as targets. Players don’t just throw them in the air: they push small domino-like tablets over a smooth wood surface to move the bones to a specific area.
Teams usually have six to eight participants. Each shooter has his own equipment, made for him, while songs and melodies accompany the shots. The skill of the gesture rubs shoulders with a vocal practice and rules of mutual respect.
The game is transmitted by learning, with the shooting techniques but also the know-how necessary accessories. The target seems modest; what surrounds it is much less so. Aiming just does not sum up the tradition: players must also learn to support their partners and find their place in the group.
What we know
Different from the game kazakhassyk; tablets fired at targets osselets, not the same rules.
