Did you know that a robot chemist conducted six hundred and eighty-eight experiments in eight days? In two thousand twenty, a team from Liverpool describes its laboratory robot. He was looking for photocatalysts, without inventing all the medicines in the world. The robot moves between equipment and manipulates samples to test selected conditions. Our bottle illustrates this automation, without containing the study product. The container remains seized or placed in a support: without levitation, never changed into another object.
The system identified a mixture that performed better than the original formulation: six times its activity in the test described. This figure compares formulations of the photocatalyst, not the speed of the robot with that of a searcher. Experiments are used to measure before selecting.
Interest is a concrete loop: propose, test, measure and start over. A useful result does not come from the trust of a software. We need equipment, measurements and a research team. The illustration does not replace the scientific data or the limitations of the experiment.
What we know
The 688 experiments were carried out in eight days. The factor of about six compares the activity of the formulations of the photocatalyst, not the speed of the robot with that of a researcher.
